The Ministry of Encouragement
Acts 9:26-28; Acts 4:36-37

Joseph earned the nickname Barnabas—"son of encouragement"—because encouragement defined his character. When everyone else feared Saul, Barnabas extended grace and acceptance. In a world filled with criticism and negativity, the church desperately needs more Barnabas-type believers. Encouragement isn't merely offering kind words; it's actively coming alongside those who are isolated, misunderstood, or struggling. It means extending grace despite someone's past when genuine repentance is evident. Consider who in your life needs a Barnabas today. Perhaps it's the new person at church, a struggling believer, or someone whose past makes others hesitant. Will you be the one who puts your arm around them and says, "Come on, I'll walk with you"?

Reflection: Who has been a Barnabas in your life? How can you intentionally encourage someone this week?
