covid-19 and crbc response update
CrossRoads Faith Family,
Over the last days we have been bombarded with news about the ever changing situation of the COVID-19 virus. Last week, as we sought wisdom about how we should respond as a church, we decided to go ahead and have our Sunday morning services. Since that time, information concerning the virus has evolved and the CDC’s recommendations have changed.
Yesterday, I spoke with our church leadership and we have decided that based upon the CDC’s recommendations we will cancel all services and ministries until April 5th. This was a hard decision to make. It was made with much prayer and seeking wisdom from the Lord. We feel this is the best decision not only for our faith family but also for our broader community. Let me just say, my heart is broken. I love our faith family and I look forward each week to learning, remembering, praying, sharing, and worshipping together. To think of not being able to do that for the next couple Sundays saddens me. I hope that also saddens you.
Jesus has called us first to “love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength” and then to “love our neighbor as ourselves.” I believe this decision is a way, for now, of “loving our neighbor.”
We will still have opportunities to learn and worship together. Staff and some on our worship team will meet the next two Sundays and we will stream a worship service for you and your family to be a part of. This will be via our Facebook page and also our YouTube channel which are linked on our website and below. The service will stream the next two Sundays at 11am. I hope you will join us!
Even as we are apart, we are able to continue to share together our resources. If you would like to worship with your tithes and offerings you can give online by the link below. Or you can place them in the mail and send to 801 State Highway 160 Warrior, AL 35180. Also, our church staff will be taking turns keeping the office open throughout the week from 8am-4pm Monday-Thursday. So you can also drop your offering off with us.
Finally, let me remind all senior adults or those with medical issues, there are many people who would love to share your burdens by going to pick up groceries or running errands. All you need to do is call the church during business hours (8am-4pm) at 205-647-3880.
Let’s continue to pray together. Prayer request can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
While it may be some weeks before we are able to return together, let us look forward to the day when we can not only learn, worship, pray, and share, but also remember (through the Lord’s Supper) together.
